Do you charge more for areas further from Santa Ana?
There is no separate trip fee bolted onto the invoice. The flat rate we quote already reflects the distance, so what you are told on the phone is what you pay. This is one city and nowhere in it is far — the longest run we have is about ten minutes, and Sandpointe is the neighborhood our own yard sits in.
My town is not on the list. Do you still serve it?
Very possibly. This list covers the communities we deliver to most regularly, not the outer limits of where we will go. Call and ask — and if we genuinely cannot cover you we will say so rather than waste your time.
How do I know which municipality I am actually in?
You are in the City of Santa Ana, and that is the whole answer. Every neighborhood we serve sits inside the city limit, so there is one municipality, one Public Works counter and one set of placement rules across the entire service area. That is unusual and it makes life simpler — the things that change from street to street here are physical, not legal.
So what actually changes from one neighborhood to the next?
Not the rules — the houses. The jurisdiction never varies here, but Santa Ana's housing splits hard by era and that changes the container completely. Floral Park, West Floral Park, Washington Square, Wilshire Square, Heninger Park and Historic French Park are 1900s to 1930s building — narrow lots, short driveways, deep tree canopy and plaster, lath and clay tile coming out. ⚠️ That is 10 and 15 yard territory, and the trees decide the placement as often as the driveway does. Sandpointe, Santa Anita, Madison Park, Riverview West and Cornerstone Village are post-war tracts with wide concrete and nothing overhead, where a 20 or a 30 places without thinking about it. Tell us the street and the age of the house and we will tell you which of those two jobs you have.
Which rules apply no matter where I am?
The prohibited list and the state diversion rules, neither of which changes with the address. No paint, solvent, automotive fluid, pesticide, pool chemical, battery, propane cylinder, aerosol, tire or appliance holding refrigerant goes in a container anywhere in this county. Household hazardous waste goes to the City of Santa Ana site at 155 West 14th Street. Solid waste facilities statewide are permitted by the California Department of Environmental Quality. One local note: Santa Ana is the Orange County seat, which is where county business is conducted.
